Woven Tape. Adhesion with Textile Backbone

Double-sided woven tape combines the flexibility of a textile carrier with precise acrylic adhesion on both sides. The woven structure provides tensile strength in the machine direction, preventing elongation of flexible materials like carpet, felt or foam under assembly pressure.

Woven Fabric vs. Thread-Reinforced Scrim

Woven fabric (No. 442, 446): Conformable carrier that follows slightly uneven surfaces. Suitable for carpet laying, temporary fixation and general lamination. Removable variant leaves no residue on most surfaces.

Thread-reinforced scrim (No. 370, 375): Virtually inextensible in the longitudinal direction. Ideal for seal profiles, tensioned membranes and applications where the tape must resist pull-out forces. Adhesion > 30 N/25mm (permanent variant).

Applications

Trade Fair and Event Flooring

Thread-reinforced scrim (No. 370, 375) fixes carpets, runners and floor coverings without shifting, even on smooth surfaces and under foot traffic. Removable variants remove residue-free after the event. We supply in custom widths for automated floor laying equipment.

Industrial Fixation and Assembly

Woven tape (No. 442) suits temporary fixation in production: bundling cable harnesses, holding protective films, provisionally positioning labels. The removable side leaves no residue on sensitive surfaces.

Seal and Profile Bonding

High-tack thread-reinforced tape (No. 375, >30 N/25mm) permanently bonds seal profiles and elastic materials. The non-extensible scrim carrier prevents overstretching of the gasket under assembly pressure.

FAQ

Can double-sided woven tape be removed without residue?

Yes, variants No. 442 and the removable side of No. 446 are designed for residue-free removal. For permanent bonds use No. 370 or No. 375 with permanent acrylic adhesive.

What are the temperature limits?

Woven tape (No. 442, 446) rated for -20°C to +100°C. Thread-reinforced scrim (No. 370, 375) covers -40°C to +100°C. Please note: these tapes are designed for indoor use. Prolonged moisture exposure can reduce adhesion. For temperatures above +120°C we recommend PET film tape.
