A double-sided tape with film as carrier material offers excellent dimensional stability. Depending on the series, we use highly transparent PET films or resistant PVC films. The technical highlights of our range:

• Different adhesion levels (removable / permanent): Our series 330, 332 and 333 offer clever combinations of removable and permanent acrylic and hotmelt adhesives, ideal for temporary fixation.
• Extreme temperature resistance: The solvent-acrylic tapes (series 465 & 466) withstand extreme temperatures from -40°C to +180°C.
• High instant tack: Our double-sided PVC film tape (series 470) offers extremely strong adhesion of > 35 N/25mm for heavy-duty requirements.
• Precise thicknesses: We offer ultra-thin PET film tapes from 0.07 mm thickness for flush bonding, up to 0.23 mm thick PVC tapes.

Depending on requirements, liners include classic silicone paper in white or yellow-brown, as well as high-tensile red MOPP films (series 465).

What is the difference between film tape and nonwoven tape?

The decisive difference is elongation: nonwoven tape can be torn by hand and adapts to unevenness, but elongates under tension. Film tape (PET carrier) is dimensionally stable, it does not elongate, maintains dimensional accuracy even under tensile load and is more precisely die-cuttable. Rule of thumb: for rough substrates or manual quick assembly → nonwoven tape. For precision assembly, automated die-cutting and high-temperature use → film tape.

What temperatures is double-sided film tape suitable for?

Depending on adhesive type, our film tapes cover a range from -40 °C to +180 °C. Solvent-acrylic variants with PET carrier achieve the widest temperature range. For continuous use above +150 °C we recommend technical consultation, as liner and adhesive must be assessed separately.

Can film tape (PET) be automatically die-cut?

Yes. PET film carrier is the most die-cuttable material in the adhesive tape range. Burr-free, dimensionally accurate cuts are possible with rotary and flatbed die-cutting tools. Logo-Flex has its own die-cutting facility in Remscheid with experience in components with complex geometries. We also die-cut customer-supplied film tape as part of our contract die-cutting service.

Which substrates are suitable for double-sided film tape?

Solvent-acrylic film tape adheres very well to smooth, high-energy substrates: glass, steel, aluminium, painted surfaces, ABS, PS and PMMA (acrylic glass). We are happy to provide samples for adhesion testing on request.
