When mechanical fasteners such as screws, welding or rivets reach their limits, double-sided foam tape is the smart alternative. The flexible PE foam carrier not only compensates uneven surface structures perfectly but also damps vibrations and distributes stress reliably across the entire bond area. Whether in mechanical engineering, exhibition construction or profile mounting: we provide the right adhesive systems, as roll, spool for automation or as a custom die-cut part from our in-house production facility in Remscheid.
Why Double-Sided Foam Tape? Your Benefits at a Glance
Industrial applications demand the highest reliability. Double-sided foam tape offers decisive advantages over conventional joining methods:
- Gap compensation: The compressible foam carrier effortlessly compensates manufacturing tolerances and differing thermal expansion coefficients of the joining partners.
- Vibration damping: Decouples structure-borne noise and protects sensitive components from shock.
- Sealing function: The closed-cell structure prevents water absorption and capillary action.
- Strong hold on difficult surfaces: Excellent adhesion even on textured, rough and low surface energy (LSE) substrates.
- Invisible bond: No unsightly screw heads or rivets, for a clean product design.
Which Foam Tape Is Right for My Application?
The choice of the right tape depends primarily on temperature, the application environment (indoor/outdoor) and the surface characteristics. We divide our solutions into three system classes:
1. Basic Mounting (Synthetic Rubber / Hotmelt)
Our all-rounder for indoor applications. Offers very high initial tack and is ideal for permanent bonds at moderate temperatures.
- Temperature range: -40°C to +75°C
- Ideal for: Exhibition construction, mirror mounting, displays, smooth high surface energy substrates (glass, steel, aluminium).
2. High Performance (Pure Acrylic / Solvent)
The solution for demanding outdoor applications and industrial requirements. UV-, weather- and chemical-resistant with extreme holding power.
- Temperature range: -40°C to +150°C
- Ideal for: Medical technology, window construction, mechanical engineering, rough and LSE surfaces (PP, PE, powder-coated).
3. Special Specs (Modified Acrylic)
Specialty tapes for highly specific applications, for example where plasticisers are involved.
- Temperature range: -30°C to +100°C
- Ideal for: PVC profiles, cable ducts, trims on soft PVC.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about PE Foam Tape
What foam thickness do I need?
This depends on the gap size and tolerances. Thinner foams (0.8–1.0 mm) are suitable for narrow gaps and high surface pressure. Thicker foams (1.5–2.0 mm) are ideal for compensating larger tolerances and providing greater vibration damping.
Can PE foam tape also be die-cut?
Yes. Logo-Flex operates an in-house die-cutting facility in Remscheid. We manufacture die-cut parts precisely to your specifications, including complex geometries. For automation processes, we also supply the material cross-wound on spools.
What is the difference between Basic Mounting and High Performance?
Basic Mounting (synthetic rubber) offers very high initial tack and is suitable for indoor applications on smooth surfaces up to +75°C. High Performance (pure acrylic) is UV- and weather-resistant, withstands temperatures up to +150°C and provides permanent adhesion even on textured or low surface energy (LSE) substrates, the right choice for outdoor applications and mechanical engineering.
Which substrates is PE foam tape suitable for?
Basic Mounting adheres well to smooth, high surface energy substrates (glass, steel, aluminium, painted surfaces). High Performance additionally covers textured, rough and low surface energy (LSE) substrates, e.g. PP, PE and powder-coated surfaces. Special Specs (modified acrylic) is plasticiser-resistant and specifically developed for soft PVC, cable ducts and flexible profiles.
Application Examples
Facade bonding (aluminium composite, HPL, ceramic)
Vehicle add-on parts (spoilers, trim strips, bezels)
Mirror and display mounting (instant tack)
Enclosure assembly with sealing function (IP protection)
PVC profiles, cable ducts, trims on soft PVC
Exhibition construction, furniture industry, interior fit-out
